Mosayter raced five times in NA, the last four trained by Dan Peitz. He sprinted and routed on the grass and was also tried at seven furlongs on the main track. He was not competitive in any race.
There were no soundness issues at all. Mosayter is a big, beautiful horse that trained like a champion in the morning. Unlike most sons of Storm Cat, Mosayter was a very kind easy horse to work with when he was in his stall. Unfortunately, the afternoons were a nightmare. He would get very nervous and wash out badly when led over on race day. He was treated in order to try and calm him but nothing ever worked. Finally, owner Shadwell Farm and Peitz gave up on him as a race horse.
I assume you are considering sending a mare to Mosayter. Please let me know what you decide and what you think of him if you get to see him.
