Frank, what do you put the over/under at the profit NYS will wind up making from this? Or should I ask, how many zeroes will you need to go out from the decimal point? Do we need to revisit the Aqueduct casino saga to find a template for how this might play out? Or the approval for the Del Lago casino which "miraculously" received legislative approval as the representative of the Souther Tier of NY, which for those not familiar with NYS geography, would be like saying Savannah should be made the capital of North Carolina. Of course the fact that the prime mover behind Del Lago has a huge footprint in NYS politics had no bearing on the decision. The punch line to all of that was the news that the casino is barely treading water and is now seeking state tax relief.

The best part of that article comes at the end. with the quote, "The big people who are going to make all the money are, first off, the lobbyists. Lobbyists and (politicians getting) political contributions." Much to no one's surprise.
