Thursday Arlington Analysis (685 Views)

Since the analysis has come in for some abuse lately...who did yesterday's Arlington? I played the last three races so I checked it out in the Red Board Room.

I had Big Bold Sweep (5-1 on the nose!) in the 8th and the tri in the 9th, but the TG handicapper (who had both winners) trumped me with Soos Maheer ($45.00?) in the 7th, which I managed not to key (I liked Remember Red and used the winner under).

Soos Maheer just kept floating up, and skipped from 12-1 to 20-1 pretty quick and I blew it. Cost me the P3 ($1 = $755 and if you just used all the horses in the TG analysis that was a cheap ticket) which I played a little because I felt I could single Big Bold Sweep (just had EVERYTHING going for it -- pattern + number power + excellent trainer stats for Amoss turf to dirt + likely square price).

The winner in the 9th (Silvermin) was a tough read, but had run the best figs over the past few months (two tops of 9-3/4) and what was interesting was that both of the tops were at 6-1/2 furlongs. At 10-1 he was worth a swing against slightly slower shorter priced horses. As for betting strategy (earlier posts) played to win, keyed Silvermin over four horses in the tri and caught it, and boxed the winner in the exactas with two of the shorter priced contenders and got that too.

Wasted a few bucks at Saratoga (worst track for me for some reason) but the signer made it well worth the trip to the Big M.

Great figs (thanks) and great analysis! HP
