Just curious if you could run two separate queries regarding Jerry Bailey and his trip path. Run one for his average trip path historical up until 12/31/03. Then run another from 1/1/04-present. You might see a difference.
Yesterday was a typical day with his trips on Miesques Approval and Silver Tree. He was wide around the far turn as he made his usual bold early move. Surged to the lead at the eighth pole looking very much like the winner. Out of horse by the sixteenth pole and second best.
As I have said before he is still the top dog but the gap between he, Prado, and Johnny V is almost razor thin. Combine that with the loyalty factor, which is nill, and in the eyes of most trainers it may be take him or leave him.
