Bringing back memories.

Deputy Shaw won the MD. Million Sprint 1989 for Ron Davis with Dave Monaci his
trainer.

I attended the 1990 race which Deputy was defending champ.
My late great friend Albert Hurren invited me down to MD. and we sat with Ron Davis and Dave Monaci.

Back in the day, Albert used to run trips to the ARC, Melbourne CUP etc. partnering with Rusty McAnally. He was Englishman transplanted to Reistertown Md. Licensed in the travel biz, he had a ton of connections in the racing game.

I remember 2 things about that day very clearly. Ron Davis' daughter was a legit 10 (this was about a decade past Bo Derek.) She was dating Deputy Shaw's jock Jose Ferrer.

Dave Monaci could EAT. Top 10 for sure!!
