I couldn't tell you the answer to that question but if you ever have a chance to go to Lane's End and take their tour it is outstanding and what a beautiful place. Most of the farms in the Lexington area are beautiful but Lanes End is the best IMO.
During one of the tours I took there, they brought out Gulch and while the woman giving the tour was talking about his accomplishments all of us started to laugh as Gulch was getting 'frisky'. She said it looks like Gulch has a date later.
She then told the story of when a mating is to occur they bring in a test horse to see if the mare would be receptive to prevent injury to the real stallion. Well as soon as the test horse gets all worked up and the mare is receptive they pull the test horse and bring in the high priced stallion.
As a horseplayer for over 55 years I feel like one of those test horses and I am sure some of you feel the same.
