Sonny Crockett/Burnett while standing on the Rickenbacher Causeway in August in a scene from Miami Vice (Definitely Miami; c/o star Ted Nugent). May have been one of my top three all-time favorites along with Payback,(Roberto Duran) and Yankee Dollar,(Ned Eisenburg).

I think the heat angle is being way overblown today. I just looked at the weather and the high temp will be about 78 degrees and the HUMIDITY maybe 50%. At 8:00AM its 55 degrees. That is nothing. When the Breeders Cup was held in So. Fla in 1999 quite a few cool weather shippers won.

Beautiful Pleasure
Cash Run
Artax
Cat Thief
Soaring Softly
Daylami

When it was run in So. Fla in 92 the weather was much hotter and it did make a difference.

Most of the time the races are held in Calif the weather, to me at least, has less to do with it than the change in racing surface for the East Coast Shippers and the FACT the West Coast Jockey's would ride like NASCAR Teams against all other outsiders.

Lone Star is a nuetral site. The heat angle should also be nuetral in your thinking.
