CtC,
I hope there are more like who are doubting Ghostzapper. Questioning whether he is "great" or not is a fair question. But to say he is no "Dancing Spree" is a bad statement.
1. He has won in Sprints and Routes in Grade 1 company.
2. He stalked a fast pace and won at Monmouth (albeit small field and sloppy surface).
3. He has dropped back to last and swept the entire field in Sprints.
4. He overcame adversity and bumping in his Woodward race.
5. He went "wire to wire" for the first time against what was supposed to be the best Classic field in years. Winning easily.
What else could he have done in the races he won this year to prove he was the best? Obviously he could have raced more often. But in the races he won, he couldn't have been better.
The constant comments about drugs appear shallow to me and I am sure others on this board as well.
GZ is at least a very very good horse. Let's see what happens next year, maybe he becomes a great horse. As a sheets player, if you believe in Jerry's numbers at all, you have to respect the fastest horse of all time. I am guessing Jerry has no vested interest in giving GZ huge figures.
