I made it pretty clear in a thread that I like Nick Zito. I think he's a good trainer. Apparently they have found a hairline fracture on Commentator that they suspect he incurred during the running of the Hal's Hope. The horse didn't exhibit any signs of discomfort until a couple days after the race. The way these things develope you can never say with certainty they influenced the race. When they retire them over it thats a little different. It's funny to read what Zito says of Commentator now that the race is over. Pre Race he seemed to be talking very optimistically about the horse:
"In my mind he's probably not a two-turn horse," Zito said. "Perhaps he could get a mile and one-eighth around one turn at Belmont, but he's just too fast to do it around two turns when he's got to change leads again.
"Remember," Zito added, "he accomplished a lot in only a short time and also put on a lot of valuable weight between November and January, and I think the combination of the two was probably the reason he might have opened a little crack."

From the same link page this blurb about Dynever who is on his way to Saudi Arabia:
"We were very pleased with Dynever's performance in the Hal's Hope," Moubarak said. "He ran a super race, and it should set him up perfectly to go 2 1/4 miles."
Yeah, you read that right 18 marks...lol Now thats racing. He might get the ground I suppose. I haven't seen a burning desire for him to get marathon ground, but they must figure he can. That Zilzal dam side stuff and his light Belmont Stakes kinda dissuade me.
