Key Derby Preps and Spacing for Derby (581 Views)

Now that the Fla Derby (4/2- 5 weeks), The Wood and Santa Anita Derby's (4/9 4 weeks) and the Blue Grass (4/16 3 weeks) are no longer on the same weekend and the Fla Derby pushed out closer to the Derby, which race draws the best field, and which is best to use for spacing as a Derby Prep. Should be interesting to see how the trainers use these races prior to the derby. Recent history has 3 weeks rest as best path forward although 4 has also worked for War Emblem for instance. The Fla Derby might come up a little weak as a prep.
