The crisis in horse racing does not involve the industry's failure to heed the oversight role of the press. (i.e. the Daily Racing Form.) The Daily Racing Form for years has abandoned its "oversight" responsibilities to the point where we all questioned if they understood that they had a responsibility.
The failure is in government and facility management. To my way of thinking we can notify the Daily Racing Form about our concerns and hope they publish them and then hope the target entities take corrective action, or we can take those concerns directly to the source of the problem.
This last time, I chose the latter because I've read accounts of "significant progress" in the Racing Form and the latest unethical conduct is vastly removed from "significant progress". Its not even debateable. The milkshake vet cannot have employment ties to those he oversees.
