I also think War Emblem demonstated Saturday that he is capable of the Triple Crown. He ran fast early. He ran off the lead. He ran off a stretch challenger and then he held off a closer and never let the closer get past him after the wire. He was under restraint during the majority of the trip.

They will take shots at him again in the Belmont. Lukas will have his rabbit. Maybe Menacing Dennis will run crazy again. Maybe Frankel will double dose Medaglia two hours before the race and put Arcaro up. Nothings sure and at 5-2 in similar circumstances, I didn't have a dime on War Emblem to win.

I also think Captain Bodgit beats Silver Charm once out of every two races they meet if he's healthy so I was kind of glad Silver didn't win it that year. I never felt he was a deserving Triple Crown Champion candidate. WE on the other hand has demonstrated the others aren't in his ballpark...but then so did Spectacular Bid at this point.
