I know its Derby time, and a lot of people around here don't think much of West Coast racing. But how can you not love to watch this little mare run. She always puts in an honest effort, and there is nothing more exciting than watching a stretch runner kick it into gear. She must have been 20 lengths back (the pace was preety fast), and just inhaled the leaders down the stretch. I know it wasn't the toughest graded stakes field around, but she's all heart. I believe this is the 3rd year in a row she's won the Santa Barbara, and she received a nice ovation from the crowd. With all the talk about milkshakes, detention barns, the Sweet Catomine fiasco, etc... its nice to witness something that reminds you of the reasons you love the game. Congratulations and thank you Megahertz.
