As you suggested Fri., maybe the Remsen was too much for R. Harbor & G. Grocer. If you remember, Read the Footnotes & Second of June put on a helluva race in the FOY last year but it knocked them both out.

Sweet Catomine on the other hand is a textbook case of Derby Fever & mismanagement. That filly was only a Derby contender in her owner's mind.
