I agree with big18741.

Afleet Alex had no excuse at all.

Closing Argument was right up close to the hot pace the entire race, went wide around both turns, and was there at the end at 72-1.

For a Derby, Afleet Alex's trip was absolutely golden, the horse just came up empty. It was a perfect situation for him and he was finished. Rose might have moved him a hair too early, that's definently debatable.

With a second slower 1/2 mile (46.2-46.4), It's Bellamy Road and High Fly in a photo finish, Afleet Alex still 3rd.
