I agree with beyerguy 2000%. IMO, the first turn in routes is much more important than the second turn. Not so much because of ground loss, but because the frontrunners are often getting used hard to get position while they are losing ground. If you adjust the fractions for ground loss the way TG adjusts final times, the pace/ground loss combo often yields some terrific value.
