i'm not crazy about peaks and valleys as a distance sire either, but he was a very nice 9f horse. his dam, strike a balance, by green dancer, is one of the best pin oak mares, and they have a lot of good ones. pinpoint's dam was by halo, his second dam was by damascus, and his third dam traces back to an excellent english family. yes, pinpoint will run better at 9f, they all will though. 2:28.4 over that surface was not impressive at all (although AA probably could have gone faster). the fact is, pinpoint just isn't that good.
