Once again the pea patch continues to be a thorn in Churchill Downs side. The 5th race at Ellis Park was declared "unofficial" and all money was refunded after 30 minutes of reviewing the start. Evidently the new head stewart was drinking again and couldn't focus on the races or the reply so he threw the race out.
Churchill refuses to acknowledge the fact that Ellis is in desperate need of capital improvements. The tote board only shows 12 betting interest but the track offers betting on 14 seperate interests.
I feel sorry for the jocks, trainers, owners, and others who bust their cans in the 90+ degree heat only to work all day for free because of the antiquated equipment they are forced to work with.
