No, not to talk about the derby, it's obviously way too early for that. Rather, it's time to talk about whether and how we can work together as a team to help CtC make the transition to the new Bd & become a functioning member of the handicapping community.

Sure, you know and I know that CtC was a very naughty boy at times & apparently even made a joke about aids, a definite no-no. But you have to admit that there were also times when he was lol funny and that he made occasional cogent observations when he was experiencing what estate lawyers call "lucid intervals." But exactly how does one strip away the bad and assist a tortured soul which is crying out for help?

During the long debate you reference Treadhead, I was contacted by a psychiatrist horseplayer who had stumbled on the site in connection with his therapy work for a group of psychotic Weight Watchers. He claimed to be the source for Ziemba's assertion that the best way to cure compulsive gamblers is to improve their handicapping so they pick more winners. He also claimed to be expert in conducting handicapping "interventions" which take anywhere from 3 hrs to 3 days, and which also involve restraints and copious amounts of duct tape. In other words, this is not something I'm going to be able to do on my own, so I'm going to have to ask for a show of hands.

In the meantime, Treadhead, try to look on the positive side of things. The long debate which bored you could have been on what role the new "jockey path" info should play in one's handicapping, such as when you're trying to figure out why in god's name Ziadie would name never-in-the-money-before-in-his-life Caballero Segundo to ride Buckaroo in the 4th at GP today.
