Looks like I missed a busy day on the board yesterday, but I took the time to catch up on all posts. The unfettered exchange of opinions and theories is a wonderful thing, and for the ??th time I feel it necessary to thank TGJB for providing the forum for such exchange.
Was at Belmont yesterday on the last and possibly most glorious day of the summer. The turf courses are looking lush and green, and I hope that NYRA is able to preserve their condition for Breeders Cup despite the fact that they are running 4-5 races per day over the lawn.
I had my binoculars as always, and my customary seat on the second level near the 1/16th pole, and I am here to report that the jockeys still look like very small human beings and no horse's testicles had grown to the size where they interfered with the running of any race.
JD Bailey rode the late double for Bill Mott, his only 2 mounts on the card. If you have replay capability, watch his ride on Connie Belle in the feature defeating Prado on a Chris Clement runner, Silver Charades (Live Oak Plantation).
Bailey then put on the Live Oak silks for the 9th race and won on Elizabull. The win mutuel was $23.00, the Mott/Mott double paid $22.00.
I snooped around a bit but couldn't get any info behind Migliore and Agent Drew Mollica splitting up.
Pedigree alert: (Tesio the Clown, are you there?) 6th at Belmont, Neil Howard first timer by Giant's Causeway out of Secret Status (winner Mother Goose and Ky Oaks). Bailey up, 1 mile on the lawn.
Note to Miff re: Belt Parkway-- I paired tops yesterday. For the second straight Wednesday 25 minutes from the Brooklyn side of the Verrazzano to Belmont. On the Belt for the ride home -- @$%&*%#!!.
