Was a very good read.

Davidowitz is a very smart handicapper and his book Betting Thoroughbreds was one of the best handicapping books ever.

However I do beg to differ on a couple of his points. Go for Wand was ridden by Randy Romero and Bayakoa by Laffit Pincay, the race was going to come down to who would outride who in the last hundred yards. Need I say more.

Unbridled Elaine was trained by David Vance a Ky based guy if there ever was one. She was led over that afternoon by Dallas Stewart who inherited the mare a week before the race. She may have run at Belmont but she was not a Belmont Park based mare.

The Euros will own the grass races, for one simple reason, they are faster. If American-based Lure was still around he would own the Mile. Wait a minute Lure is in there his name is Leroytheanimal. (sic)

Also have a question and do not really have the time to think about it. How many Jockey Club Gold Cup winners have won the Classic. Cigar and Skip Away were two, I'll bet there were not that many more, maybe as few as one.
