Here's my take & my line:
1-Bob and John: Maturing nicely now - will stalk from inside -- can't blame anyone who likes this guy or who bets him in derby futures - talk about a colt than can run all day - he looks like that kind. 5-2
2-Old Thunder: Not really a serious threat in here. 20-1
3-Kobyashi: Not sure why they're running him here; I guess to season him, could be a nice colt, hope they don't ruin him 50-1
4-Your Tent or Mine: Scary when you think he hasn't come close to reaching his best yet, still I think he may be over-bet here, it's going to be hard to grind past a few of these like he has in weaker
fields and the stretchout is a concern because Hollywood is a deep surface, I think I'd take a stand against this very talented colt. 3-1
5-Brother Derek: The speed of the speeds? Usually, that's what you want on Futurity day, but I'm not sure he'll be able to hold in the stretch run. 5-1
6-Ecru Egret: Another Greely maiden to fill out the field. 100-1
7-Jealous Profit: I'm sure he's probably not grade I material but he may well earn a check, usable underneath in exotics. 15-1
8-AP Warrior: Absolute monster, can't understand why P-Val picked Your Tent or Mine over this guy, especially when considering the classics in 2006. I love the post too for this guy to stalk (outside's been the place to be lately, though typically inside speed is super on Futurity Day, so I'll have to watch the earlier races, I'd down-grade his chances a bit if the track is souped up and favoring inside speed) otherwise I have a hard time seeing anyone beat him. My only other concern is he hasn't had a race over the track, though he did work
over it (besting a horse who just broke his maiden yesterday)
the other day, sometimes, you really need that with theHollywood Suface. 9-5
