No "oomph" late... (856 Views)

BUCKLAND MANOR loomed boldly as the favorite in today's San Antonio Handicap at Santa Anita, but then dropped out of it. As he faded, I felt a bit sorry for that one's trainer, Paco Gonzalez. Years ago, in the days of FREE HOUSE's glory, Gonzalez won at a high rate and his racehorses overachieved. But then came the situation involving FREE HOUSE's clenbuterol positive, and since then, Gonzalez' barn has not been the same. He's won at a 3% clip - only 2 races from his last 53 starts! What a turnaround.
BUCKLAND MANOR shows no "oomph" late. No "Oscardrive" in the final stages of the race. I wonder what he'd be like with different [that is, later] clenbuterol withdrawal times to help his lungs.
