Eric-- in catching up I came across a couple of your posts that require comments.
First, the inane one bitching about the horse with the box on his TG sheet:
1-- When that came up, I e-mailed Janis to tell him that it probably was scored wrong-- that since we had the horse ranked last, it was unlikely the race was a push. I was making sure you guys got credit.
2-- Anyone with a DRF, program, or TG sheet (upper left) could see the missing race was good-- it was a 7 length win in fast time. For various reasons there was no way to do a figure for it other than by guessing, and the horse winning did nothing to prove out your figure, any more than the two bad races that followed the good one showed your figure was wrong.
3-- The horse was an even money shot. Figure for the race or not, anyone handicapping the race with TG could see that the horse had one good race and two since that gave him no shot. As it turned out he ran well. It happens. It has nothing at all to do with whatever figure you assigned.
4-- It could as easily have been a horse with a box that got beat 15 lengths in the same race. It will be, when those other horses run next.
More importantly:
I see that you have posted your ideas for how the study should be done. It would have been nice if you had done this back when I asked you guys for suggestions a couple of times, before the study began, when you guys were fighting hard to keep it from taking place. But I am willing to have Janis add a study along the lines you want, beginning from day one (even though I am sure you guys are ahead doing it that way, or you wouldn't have suggested it), if
a) You lay out the exact parameters.
b) You set up a comp account for the product we have to download daily from you to do the study. Since you have the same chance to get bragging rights here as I do, that's only fair. If you don't know what "fair" means, look it up.
