First off, regrets involving Pine Island. I can't remember Shug losing a Grade I winner on the track before and if it can happen to him it can happen to anybody. My bets went down with Pine Island, but you have to feel for racing and the first family of racing. Tragic.
The Classic ran fairly formful. Bernardini is a good horse, he was beating up on weak three year olds however. He certainly was not in the league of some of the great ones. His one unrestricted race came up weak. In the Classic he was exposed. If they want to hang the bridle of greatness on him he'll have to come back next year. Still, hes 3YO champion, congrats and congrats to HOTY Invasor!
The sprint was a gift. I'm still boggled that Thors Echo could go off anywhere near those odds.
And what about Street Sense? Now theres a horse!
Lastly, Terrible Todd had a nice money day ...TOO BAD HE DIDNT WIN...lol
What a day. Great Breeders Cup!
