Cordero, Pletcher,Mc Laughin,Johnny V,all felt that the inside was "tighter" than the outer paths. One report stated that the rail was scraped BC morning and the extra dirt was spread over the other paths(see asufuh post)

Looking at all the dirt races on the day, it seems the rail was better or maybe those ground savers were just best on the day and it's a coincidence.
