Michael-- I've been trying to stay out of this for fear of making things REALLY complicated. Because, as you might remember, a "length" in this business turns out to be a measure of time, not distance, and the different teletimer companies a) use slightly different formulas, and b) won't tell the public what they are.
I don't know what Trakus uses, we haven't really looked at their stuff yet. We decided a long time ago that the ratio of a "length" to a "path" (slightly more than the width of a horse) was around a little over 3 to 1, so we used PI, since that conveniently gave us 1 path = 1 length. As I recall, Ragozin used 1 path = .95 lengths, something like that.
