understanding what those 2 yo number's and patterns mean is significant and very helpfull in determining what next is likely in general terms of development for given race horse .
3yo patterns and the numbers much of the time are a result of what the horse did as a 2yo , the triple crown trail is an exagerated example of this .
i'm not seeing a 2yo crop this year looking superior to that of any in the decade or so .
this might be a good time for speed figure handicappers of all skill levels and accument to start pounding the tg red board room to see at tracks they usually don't follow , what is taking place right now in the 2 yo scene with respect to the numbers run and the kind of patterns they put together .
today at aqi -4- mary's prospect is one who could "get back" but more rest coming into today's race would really help that senario - this horse will be from an outside post and if she has to lose ground , i'm hoping she'll be wide of the type of trouble one can run into in these kind of races with young , inexperienced race horse's boring in and out , altering paths , racing greenly all over the track etc .
normally i'd probably pass on this , but it's the 1st of 10 races for the ntra/drf/tvg online vegas finals qualifier contest i'm hoping for the best - it isn't a great position to be in from the get go , but i'll take it ...
