thanks, yes I was referring to his first race, not sunday's. So if the first effort is "all systems go" so to speak - full out, lasix,...that is when I should speculate the "too fast, too soon" theory?

I won that leg of the pik 4, and the last 2 legs...oddly, I did not have the 2nd leg winner - the shortest field of the 4. There was a stks race run almost identically to it last year (maybe 2 yrs ago) that developed the same way with a longshot missing the turn - going to the outside rail, and then winning after the field has passed him...quite exciting & more than one person watching SA with me sunday remembered it. Wish I could remember his name - an Eastern shipper I remember for sure...
