First, I agree with all the kudos being passed around here. Two posters posted very well on this race.
Second, I do not want to sound prissy, but, if the weights are so unreliable, doesn't that call into question the numbers? If TGJB is given bad weights, it is not his fault, but the numbers necessarily suffer if the inputs are bad.
Third, shouldn't clerks of scales be barred from betting? I mean that is like allowing stewards to bet or placing judges to bet. I assume they are not allowed. Why would a clerk of scales be allowed to bet? That sounds very fishy to me.
I note that according to the DRF charts, in the sixth race, it lists Adjusting as carrying 116 lbs (including Alavarado even though her program assignment was 114 lbs) and it lists Lila Paige as carrying 113 lbs (including Alvarado). I guess it is possible that he sweat down for one race, but I am not accustomed to seeing this. Has anybody else seen this before in a Grade I or Grade II handicap?
