Moon Catcher - two nice runs from the May foal with the addition of Marquez and blinkers. Last a huge move to the ‘0’ lvl. I believe this is a legitimate ‘0’ filly, and a threat to steal it. The challenge from Folk on the front end will make things difficult though, and the change in surface and stretch in distance complicate things further.
Panty Raid - a bit slow coming in. I can see a move to the ‘4’ lvl though with the nice Pletcher timing, and her stalking/closing style fits well here. Saves the ground from post 2.
Tough Tiz’s - dirt races too slow, but you get the very dangerous Baffert/Bejarano combo. Nice work over the track. Threat, but reluctant toss.
Octave - very consistent filly with a big heart. Looking for another ‘4’ or so, which makes her a risky proposition on top at low odds.
Folk - very interesting with the rider change. The addition of a few other speed types means she will have to run early to get the lead though. Was to be the key if the only speed, but still a threat if rated to perfection by Gomez.
Lear’s Princess - interesting Lear Fan over Carson City nick, similar to Barbaro’s Dynaformer/Carson City cross. Took to the dirt very well last with a move to the ‘3.5’ lvl, a three point jump from last, but only two points from the impressive maiden win. Should save most of the ground while 7 to 10 lengths off a decent pace. Get the feeling six weeks timing would suit this filly better, but a solid contender at ml of 10-1.
Lady Joanne - has had things very easy with the four horse fields last two. Last was good enough to win this with the same type trip. Can Calvin tuck in behind MC and Folk, save the ground, ease out in the stretch and take another big race?
Lear’s Princess the early pick at ml of 10-1.
