Mike,

One doesn’t have to be more concerned with the animals in the game than with the humans to be appalled at the fatality rate in steeplechases. The “loons” are irrelevant to these horses injuries.

In any case this isn't just an animal welfare issue. When horses go down, jockeys get injured too
Like P-Dub says, give it a rest.
