Paul:

I am a Direct TV subscriber and as you probably know DTV now offers TVG. I do
not know if this is an exclusive arrangement which would prevent DTV from
offering HRTV.

Let me say that IMO TVG has some very competent on air talent, but also has
quite a few people who seem to be learning about Racing while they are on the
job.

I am not technically inclined, but you would think that there is some way to
uplink a PC to a conventional TV to get a better picture.

NYRA's feed was available to me gratis on Channel 71 on Time Warner Cable. The
NYRA feed is of course available on NYRA's internet site but a word about that:
In the golden days of wagering from Living Room Downs, I was able to set myself
up with NetTeller and Pinnacle in about 15 minutes; it took 4 days to get
hooked up with NYRA's internet wagering site and who knows if they
are "floating" the money in wagering accounts to fund the most recent rounds
of purse increases.

(Editorial Note: The quality of NY racing for the most part gets worse and
worse, and they keep increasing the purses. This means that people (especially
off track) are pouring more and more money into NY racing-- what does this say
for the quality of racing in other venues?)

I believe that Brisbet no longer takes wagers on NYRA tracks and as such the
live feed which Bobphilo was describing may no longer be available for NYRA
tracks.

Racing is costing itself money each day by making it more difficult rather than
less complicated to watch and wager on Racing from the comfort of one's home.
