Okay, so maybe the stock is trading at about 40% of its high, & the two most prominent independent Bd members recently resigned. And sure, there have been no changes to the SA backstretch & the redevelopment of GP has been put "on hold." Some of you may even question the plan to flatten Pim & build an entertainment center in that neighborhood as being a bit far fetched. The reason these things are taking so long might be because Magna execs were working on their plan to lure back bettors who are receiving rebates, according to my unsolicited membership in the MEC Player Club. Now, assuming I use the card, every time I wager $2k I have a choice of 4 "rewards", namely a $5 food voucher, a $5 betting voucher, a trip to the announcer's booth, or a chance to watch a race from the press box. I can't wait to tell a few of the press wags what their seats are really worth.

But that's not all. There are cordless phones, a yr of internet service, a DVD player, a "trophy presentation"(unclear if you present or recieve the trophy) and my personal fav, which you get for betting $800k, a trip for 2 to an MEC facility. At $35 k per mo., the rebate on $800k would be $40-$56k, so now we know what Frank & his team think a trip to one of his facilities is worth. For some reason I question whether there is a single player who will agree, although if I'm wrong I certainly would be interested in meeting the gentleman.
