Since Octave is a late, slow grinder, whose best 8.5 was on Polytrack after everyone was worn out, she looks the slug, which is interesting because she is a multiple GR1 winner.
Bear Now scares me because she looks best on Poly, even if it's the look and act like dirt kind in CAN.
Moon Catcher seemed to like the DEL surface which was too hard for some. I don't see that Bear Now was very effective when this one scraped her off into the turn in Wilmington.
Syd N Carly's Rose won an allowance race in her 3, can't accord that a lot.
Exchanging Fire needs to lead, and the could be a Bear Now.
Silverinyourpocket reminds me that Scott moves sprinters up faster than 2 turn beasts. Or so it seems, I never look at stats for fear of finding them argumentative.
A perfectly nice NJ bred that does whatever she is told, when she is asked, and with a certain panache could have us talkin' about love later in this day. She waits, she springs, and she has only been under pressure for about an 1/8th so far this year. This surface should fit exactly. If style was all, she would be everything to me. The front of this looks crowded. If she wins, the year is over for her. She has to go all in for this one. I don't see why she wouldn't start saving ground on the first turn, as she should be in front of the Octave, and behind Bear, Moon, & Fire.
Can a Jersey bred Gr3 beat a TAP multi Gr1 winner. At this time of year, yes. Because all his horses are designed to start early. OK, a generalization.
