There are 141 horses pre-entered. The average card has about 80. What the heck do you want?
I got a quick look at Ragozin's BC sheets, and though I unfortunately probably won't have time to do any pop quizzes this year (due to 11 stinking races to write about), I have to say they are pretty funny, in at least one case literally. When I got to Panty Raid winning the Spinster with a 9 I actually laughed out loud.
On just a quick look, there was also Dixie Chatter going BACK two points winning the GI last time, from the figure he earned running fifth the race before. I would love to see Len post the whole Norfolk field-- it's the same California sprint/route problem they've had for years.
Steve Kenley of Lava Man fame (he claimed the horse off our data, despite Ragozin claims to the contrary), told me recently that looking at the two sets of sheets was like looking at English and Chinese. After looking at the BC I see what he means-- they've fallen off the end of the table. If you took the names off the top, in most cases I would have no idea who the horse is.
