Didn't see this until about post time.
Now it's after the fact so it's easy to comment.
Dreamers Glory showed precocity and talent on dirt, it just so happens sprinting. But her failure to get back to her top figure this year was and is not a good sign. She got within 2 points of her top once this year, moved back slightly twice, then threw in a stinker at Monmouth. She's moving backward at a time when she should be improving.
After some rest Orseno tried her on turf and she ran credibly, 2 points or so off her 3yo best. She moved forward in her 2nd turf start almost back to her 3yo dirt top. But remember she struggled at a slightly faster level earlier in the year and that was a regression off her 2yo best. In general horses rarely run equally as well on both turf and dirt. We already knew that Dreamers Glory was very fast on dirt. And there's nothing about her pedigree to suggest she would be better on turf. Nor did her turf efforts, okay as they may be, disprove that impression. She did not show a freakish affinity to the green.
So she enters this turf race off an effort just about at the level she struggled with earlier in the year facing Grade 3 runners that, unlike her, show a marked preference for turf.
Tough to think she'd run well against these. She got beat about 7-1/2 lengths.
