Some brilliant runs on Saturday:

1. Volponi: running into the wind for a good part of the race, and still finishing in 25 and change...... the final time may not look that great on paper, but I imagine the figure will be huge.... maybe the best Classic performance I have ever seen.

2. Storm Flag Flying: the horse still doesn't know how to run..... if she matures like she should, she will never lose a race (unless she tries the boys, and even then I will bet her). Composure was also brilliant. Touch Gold is going to be a great sire.

3. Azeri: just plain fast. Laura wasn't lying when she said they had never let the horse run before....... also, great to see the Paulson silks in the BC winner circle again.

4. The Rock: I was surprised how small the horse was....... he is a ball of dynamite though, what a run down the stretch!!!! I hope they keep him running next year.

Some runner up nominations:

1. Vindication: bred to run all day, a real nice horse

3. Hold That Tiger: I imagine we will be seeing him in the U.S. all spring (hopefully with Pletcher and JR). those foreign Storm Cat horses really need to get more dirt experience, they cost too much to pay the bills running in middle distance grass races.

4. Domedriver: brilliant late kick (brilliant pick by one of our foreign contributers: well done fastspeed)

5. Orientate and Thunderello: clearly the best sprinters around.

6. Starine: brilliantly rated by Velazquez, and my only good score of the day. also, a nice pick by the TG dudes.

7. High Chaparral: class, just plain class.

Hope everyone had fun, I though it was one of the best days of horse racing I have ever seen. Speak to everyone next spring.......
