Friedmans New Angle--The Implosion Horse (1193 Views)

As we brought up last week and as many Ragozin customers who post on their Board pointed out Buddy Gil looked like he was already in the midst of a significant pattern of regression on ‘SHEETS’.

This got me thinking and Friedman has now come up with a new handicapping angle for his next book—The Implosion Horse. The Implosion Horse is a thoroughbred that ships in from a lesser circuit, makes a major step up in class (Grade 1 and 2 company I might add), tackles the deepest group of developing three year olds in the land, carries equal weight, experiences two wide trips, undergoes a 4-6 point regression in the course of both races and still wins. Oh let me also add that this horse is not Spectacular Bid, never was or will be.

This is exactly what Buddy Gil will look like on SHEETS after the Santa Anita Derby figures are complete. If people want to rely on someone who produces this type of garbage three words of advice, Save Your Money.

I ran into 2 friends at Gulfstream who are Thorograph players after the Santa Anita Derby and both of them told me they had “bet out on Buddy Gil” in the race. They said at 6-1 he looked to good to be true and in their eyes the paired up 2’s had them thinking he may move forward again. When I asked them if they considered he might be a candidate to bounce their response was, “Briefly, you always have to consider all the angles before you make a big bet, but any ideas of a bounce were eliminated when we looked at Mullins Trainer Stats. The guy has been on fire and his Trainer Stats were another green light”.

One of them told me “this score sets me up all the way through the Triple Crown, if I practice good money management. I’m playing with the house money now”. The other guy said I’ll know more later tonight. When I pressed for more details he said, “I’m going to double down on Syracuse against Texas”.

Oh they also said be sure thank TGJB.
