There might be some horses who can deal with the heat, but I doubt very much if there are any who have any experience with the ashes which are literally falling from the sky here due to wildfires. The spits on the turf may be fast, but after reviewing charts, and watching the stakes which just took place, I'm not sure where the idea that early speed is holding up on the turf originated.
