Trainers Stats (779 Views)

Was looking at todays card for Gulfstream Park and found the Trainers Stats to be quite interesting. I can't tell you how much more relieved I am they have cleaned up the racing there since they ran the Gill/ Shuman team out of town.

Todd Pletcher, who is the leader trainer with 29 wins is hitting at 33% clip somewhat believable considering how many good horses he has but he also has 19 seconds which means that 55% of his starters have run 1-2. This is supposed to be a tough meet win at, or at least I thought.

However Pletcher is downright icecold when compared to Karian McLaughlin who is hitting at 50% clip after Saturday and a lot of his 22 starters have been running in Stakes Races.

Dale Romans is sneaking right along at a 40% clip with Stanley Hough and the Giant Killer at 29% and 25% respectively. And Mr Giant Killer I do mean that respectively literally.

Our two resident insurance claims adjusters for vehicles damaged while on the grounds of the Gulfstream backstretch, Allen Iwinski and Peter Walder have winning percentages of 24% and 33%, disrespectively.
Neither one has uttered a single complaint this year about trainers who use drugs and cheat. HMMMMMMM.

This crew makes Scott Lake who is at 17% look like a pure Hay and Oats guy which heretofore seemed absolutely impossible.

Bill Mott has 10 wins and a 15% win percentage which used to be considered successful. Mott had better be careful or he may soon be looking for new a line of work.
