The Louisana Derby (1000 Views)

One day, Gradepoint is going to run into trouble or a track bias he can't overcome. He's 5-2 morning line and I expect he will be going off at 9-5 or possibly less. He's done nothing wrong and his last race he closed like a good thing, but that "way back" style can't last forever at 8.5 marks and he catches a significantly more crowded field than he did last. Granted he beat as large a field in the race just prior. He's breaking from outside and that should suit him. He'll angle in and save some ground. But coming for home, they'll be more traffic and one day traffic is gonna be the difference between winning by 1/2 a length and missing the board.

I've heard glowing reports about this horse. A.p. Indy's stud fee is 300,000K. Maybe it was 200K or 250K three or four years ago. But this horse sold for 77,000 at the OBS Calder Select Two Year Old in Training Sale. Now this horse may win the Derby, but if does so it's not gonna be because he didn't overcome some issues.
