The horse apparently hangs when he makes the lead, or waits on horses. They were confident he was so much better on form they were willing to allow the ground loss to prevent the hanging that might get him beaten. They mentioned he can be a difficult horse to ride.

As a European trainer friend of mine says,"The horse is a bit of a thinker!."
