I remember that summer thinking who is this Ronnie Warren who showed up with a bunch of pretty horses and did nothing. I didn't realize his stats were that bad for that meet! Back in the day we weren't that cognizant of the other circuits before simulcasts and co mingling we only knew the big out of town players.

1982 seems like yesterday; OMG!!! Conquistador Cielo winning the Met Mile & Belmont Stakes in the same week, Runaway Groom beating the 3 triple crown race winners in the Travers and many late nights on the deck of the Rafters overlooking Saratoga Lake; now a condo complex. 30 years and 30 lbs later!
