Once again, we are faced with a colt who ran fast and won in a sprint race stretching out, stepping up in (purse $$) against more experienced competitors.
Runhappy had a poor start in his maiden race or else he arguably would have made the lead early and led gate to wire. Furthermore he ran greenly in the stretch. Not the kind of professional behavior that gives one confidence.
But he blitzed the turn and is 8/1 on the morning line. The trainer confident enough to van him down the road or just overly optimistic owners? The colt has some ability and in this case the Sire Super Saver looks a plus.
My old fashioned %e considerations put him in the doubtful area but my optimism tells me if he could miraculously learn to rate a little (even if on the lead) he'll make the others look ordinary which I think they are.
So Runhappy you are my choice @ >5/1
