Sorry to see Congaree retire, he was a really fast horse who dominated some very big races: The Carter, Cigar Mile twice. The Stonerside people hopefully have a good stallion, we will see.

The Pimlico Special next Friday might be the best race of the entire weekend. You have Midway Road coming in with his 123 Beyer (curious what on got on the TG)in the Ben Ali. Dynever and last years Preakness winner Fuuny Cide who may be about ready to bust out if I have his pattern correctly figured. However Fuuny Cide will have to be to beat the others who will be taking no prisoners.

The Derby ratings were up in a year where there was no Superstar horse, kaos seemed to be the norm most of the spring, and no Baffert or Bailey in the race. That tells me something. Hammond did a good job, he knows the sport from his days doing the today at Keeneland replay show. Not many of these network guys really know this sport and are more talking heads than anything else.

Sarava.

Baffert did a good job of having him ready to run. That was a decent field he was in against with Congrats, Spanish Empire and Perfect Drift. Not on the Pimlico Special level but still quality.

I was told by someone VERY CLOSE to the horse that he will run better when he gets more ground. The pace was slow in that race and he closed gamely to be beaten a length or so for second. Lets hope he can move forward from here.

Thats all folks.
