I didn't know that, thanks, and it is a small consolation. The race was contentious and I underestimated the winner. Not so the crowd?
Unbeknownst to me at the time of my post, the TG Analysis liked Ring Weekend as both fast & consistent. After considering a couple of scratchs 7/1 was a reasonable price.
My view was most of the contenders had stayed close to fast paces in the past and would press Heart To Heart thruout. That is except Forge whose strength was a strong late kick.
Re: Heart To Heart, impressed by running good pace and fractions. Noteworthy performance and one to watch.
Re: Forge, ran much closer to the pace than I expected and some credit due to jockey Franco, the import strategy and trainer Bill Mott.
Re: Ring Weekend, to my eye he was harried and bothered thruout the trip by Projected (another runner of which I expected more). The kind of trip that results in a desire for fisticuffs later in the day ala Borel vs Castellano.
Re: Whoops Rosario, TAKEOVER TARGET bumpedlightly with HEART TO HEART at the start, moved up under restraint into the first turn, was eager under restraint while off heels on that bend, raced just off the pace under a tight hold, saved ground on the far turn, was asked at the five-sixteenths, moved to the two path just after turning into the stretch then brushed with GLORIOUS EMPIRE and weakened.
Oh Well, Ring Weekend, as good as he has been, is becoming something of a disappointment. All in all another great meet. Gotta go get the storm shutters ready in case IRMA heads for FL west side.
