The Twinspires video of the track, prior to a race, displays both the win and place payoff prices.

This suggests, to me, that the pool is simply divided by the number (count) of horses sharing in the place payoff.

My understanding is in the U.S. the place or show payoffs are prorated by the $'s bet on a particular prize winner.

Does anyone know the facts about this
