Many handicappers don't bother to consider the surface a whole lot. I do so that when the 5th race at GP today went on Tapeta I paid attention.
The #1 won the race at a generous 9/2. What surprised me some is that she came from a little off the pace rather than surviving a pace duel. C/B, probably is, nothing.
On the other hand, we may see winners coming from off the pace in GP races that do not race on the turf. That w/b something different. Thinking, TP, Presque Isle, Woodbine?
