Blue Chip,
The odds on this Belmont are tough to predict.
People complained, cheered, yelled, explained, and moaned all over Twitterverse about how crazy the odds were in the Preakness this year. But for a good amount of years, not counting the weird Covid times, there have been horses with NO chance going off FAR FAR shorter in the Preakness and Belmont than they should have. I tell you that b/c I think while 4 to 1 is a pipe dream in an 8 horse field, I do think that it is possible (unlikely) to get 3-1 on your horse. 5 to 2 seems about right to me but again this one is tough as no clue what happens with Richie (barn nickname for Derby winner) as well as Mo and a much shorter than ml Nest.
Looks like a 2 horse race to me. WTP in front for as long as he can race and can he get 1.5 miles. Tiz the Law was by Constitution out of a Tiznow mare so there is reason to see him having no trouble. WTP maternal grandmother Harmony Lodge was a sprinter though. If he doesn't make the 1.5 miles in front, Nest sits chilly and close behind him with the breeding to definitely run the distance and win if WTP doesn't. Some think Barber Road will be closer to the pace based on 3 races as 2yo although I don't see him "changing" or "reverting" successfully to that at 1.5 miles now.
Good Luck.
